Scrolling through Instagram I came across this design by the 29 year old psychedelic Texan artist Jimmy Alonzo. (Psychedelics feature heavily in my Insta feed!)
I reached out to him via DM and this hoodie is the spectacular result.
Capturing his work in embroidery proved especially challenging and in the end this work is a mix of many techniques: appliqué, sublimation, machine embroidery and freehand machine embroidery- something we call “thread painting”.
